County Offices Closed

Citrus County Government offices will be closed Friday, April 18 in observance of Good Friday.

The county landfill will be open on Friday from 8:00 am to 2:30 pm, but the administrative office will be closed all day. There will be no Hazardous Waste Drop-offs on Good Friday.

Libraries will be closed on Friday, but will return to normal business hours on Saturday, April 19.

All Community buildings and parks will be closed on Friday. Bicentennial Pool will be OPEN. Central Ridge pool, which has been closed for the winter, is also closed, but will reopen for the summer on May 3rd.

Animal Services will be closed Friday, and will re-open at 10:00 am on Saturday, April 19th.

Fire Protection Assessment Applications

In accordance with Resolution 2013-115 Section 4, Citrus County has created a Hardship Assistance Program to assist residential property owners, who meet eligibility criteria, with the financial burden created by the imposition of the Municipal Services Benefit Unit for Fire Protection Assessment that was approved on July 23, 2013.


In accordance with Resolution 2013-115 Section 5, each owner of mobile home park or recreational vehicle (RV) park property will be given the opportunity to demonstrate the vacancy rate in space occupancy within such property and receive a vacancy adjustment to the Fire Protection Assessments that was approved on July 23, 2013.

There are a lot of folks here in Citrus County that do not know to call Citrus County Animal Services in the case that their pet is lost or missing.

You can either visit the Citrus County Animal Shelter at 4030 S. Airport Rd., Inverness, FL., or you can visit their website at www.citruscritters.com to see if your pet had been brought to the shelter.

Their website is live - meaning if your pet has been brought to the shelter, and has been impounded, you will have instant access to see if your pet is there. Visit this page to see our adoptable animals and/or to see if your lost/missing pet has been brought to the shelter.
