Thirty years of service in the United States Army gave Eber Brown the
opportunity to serve in command and staff positions at various levels.
His service included twenty five years as a Master Army Aviator, two
tours in Vietnam, Korea, Hawaii, and various postings in the Continental
United States.
Mr. Browns' military career culminated as the Deputy Commander of the
U.S. Army Operational Airlift Command, which provided aviation support
to all of the continental United States, and internationally. This
support was provided by a fleet of 120 twin engine aircraft, 5 executive
jets and 45 rotary wing aircraft, positioned at 16 hubs throughout the
United States. This mission served the White House and members of Congress.
In 1995 he became the Director of the Criminal Justice Academy at
the Withlacoochee Technical Institute. He served 10 years, providing support
and training to law enforcement, correction and correctional probation
communities.
In January 2005, Mr. Brown joined the Department of Juvenile Justice as
the Assistant Secretary for Staff Development and Training until his
departure in 2007. In June 2008, Mr. Brown assumed the duties of Deputy
County Administrator. He has been married for 42 years to Patricia and
has a daughter, Alicia.
He is an avid sports enthusiast and golf is his recreational interest.
