Advisory Boards and Committees»Apply for position Affordable Housing Advisory Committee Meets 5:00 pm - 3rd Tuesday This committee was formed to improve the housing situation in Citrus County by studying and developing projects, coordinating with county staff and by making recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners. Meets 2:00 pm - 2nd Thursday This Board advises the Board of County Commissioners on all land acquisitions, leases, construction, reconstruction on, improvements, repairs, maintenance, and general operation of all public airport facilities in Citrus County Beverly Hills Advisory Council Meets 10:00 am - 2nd Monday This Board advises the Board of County Commissioners on budget, policies, services, and other pertinent matters of the Beverly Hills Municipal Service Benefit Unit (MSBU). Meets as needed This Task Force provides input relative to all phases of the project process for recommendations regarding the Community Development Block Grant Program (Homosassa Project). Citrus Springs Advisory Council Meets 9:00 am - 1st Wednesday of each month This Council oversees a budget of approximately $600,000 to be used to improve roads and beautify the Citrus Springs subdivision. The Council determines the most urgent needs of the community and makes recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners. Construction Licensing and Appeals Board Meets 2:00 pm - 4th Wednesday Members evaluate applicants for examination and issuance of certificates of competency for trade contractors to determine that adequate experience and financial responsibility criteria are met. Also hear administrative complaints pursuant to disciplinary proceedings against locally licensed contractors and sit as an Appeals Board for contested civil citations. Membership is composed of laymen and contractors. Fire Code Review and Appeals Board Meets Quarterly and as needed Serves for the purpose of reviewing any locally proposed technical amendments to building standards or regulations, and makes recommendations to the BOCC. Also hears appeals of Code interpretations, and makes decisions on variations and modifications concerning technical codes and standards. Makes recommendations to the BOCC on changes to Article II, Chapter 18 of the Citrus County Code. Historical Resources Advisory Board Meets first Wednesday every other month - 4:00 The Historical Resources Advisory Board maintains its commitment to its partnerships among federal, state, local government, and the citizens of Citrus County to identify, evaluate and protect historic properties. Planning and Development Review Board Meets 9:00 am - 1st & 3rd Thursday This Board reviews development applications and makes recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners on changes to the Citrus County Comprehensive Plan and Land Development Code. The PDRB has final action on Variance and Conditional Use applications. The PDRB also provides direction to staff regarding land use amendments as well as text amendments on development issues. Public Safety Coordinating Council Meets as needed Members assess population of correctional facilities, plans for construction and review release programs. Special Library District Advisory Board Meets 4:00 pm - 4th Thursday This Board advises the Board of County Commissioners concerning Library budgets, policies and services. Meets 2 p.m. second Friday every other month (unless group votes to meet more often) The Stakeholders Advisory Group, or SAG, is a collection of county commission-appointed representatives from a diverse group of stakeholder groups and organizations. Their purpose will be to review and provide input to the commission on potential rule adoptions or amendments, impact fee and other funding studies, procedures and policies of county programs, and the value of and need for current or proposed programs and services. Meets the 2nd Wednesday of every other month at 9:00 A.M. The Citrus County Tourist Development Council is a nine member advisory board whose members are appointed by the Board of County Commissioners. The TDC develops the plan for tourism development and marketing and makes recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners for the use of Tourist Development Tax Revenue. The makeup of the TDC is governed by state statute125.0104. Six members of the council are persons who are involved in the tourist industry and who have demonstrated an interest in tourist development. Of those six, not less than three or more than four are owners or operators of tourist accommodations in the county and subject to the Tourist Development Tax. One member is a representative from the Board of County Commissioners. Two members are elected municipal officials. The TDC meets at 3600 W. Sovereign Path, Lecanto FL in room 166 at 9:00 A.M. Transportation Disadvantaged Coordinating Board Meets 10:30 am - Meets Quarterly the 3rd Friday of the month beginning in February This Board is a policy making and consulting board. The Florida Commission for the Transportation Disadvantaged (CTD) requires approval by the TDCB on many reports, agreements, evaluations, etc. The TDCB assists in establishing standards (as required by CTD), advises transportation management with regard to operating practices, and recommends changes to policy and practices. Water and Wastewater Authority Meets as needed. This Board provides for the regulation of water, bulk water, and wastewater utilities within the unincorporated areas of Citrus County.
