4-H Events
4-H Citrus Stampede Rodeo:
Through the hard work and dedication of the Citrus County 4-H Foundation Directors and local business sponsorship, we have held many very successful Rodeos in Citrus County. The Citrus Stampede Rodeo this year will be held on (TBA) at the Citrus County Fair Grounds.

Florida 4-H Legislature:
A week-long (Monday to Friday) hands on experience will be held in Tallahassee on June 22 - 26, 2009. Senior members role play lobbyists
and legislatures as they debate over various legislative bills. By doing this, youth learn about the legislative process.
County 4-H Camp Ocala:
A week-long
(Monday to Friday) camping session for Citrus County youth
will be held during the summer at the 4-H Camp Ocala on July 13th through 17th, 2009. Camp Staff and Extension Agents supervise
the camp. Youths must be 8 years of age as of 9/1/2008, and no older than 12. You must be a 4H member to attend.

Citrus County Fair:
An opportunity for 4-H members to exhibit their 4-H projects. The fair is the

County Events Day:
Demonstrations and speeches are given in a contest setting for Juniors, Intermediates, and Seniors
in various categories. Ribbons are awarded and judges give valuable comments.
Qualifiers go to the District level event. County Events usually take place the
1st Saturday of February.
State Leaders Forum:
A weekend training session
for Florida 4-H Leaders and Volunteers similar to Rock Eagle.
Usually held at one of the State 4-H Camps, and takes place
some time in April.
District Events:
District competition
in the demonstration and speech categories. Juniors and Intermediates stop at
this level. Senior qualifiers will go to State 4-H Congress
at the University of Florida at Gainesville. This year Marion County is hosting District Events, May 2, 2009.
4-H Banquet:
The time when 4-H members, volunteers and donors are recognized
for their achievements for the past year.
