Pet Meal Eligibility

Who is eligible for PetMeals?

If you are currently receiving meals through the Citrus County Home Delivered Meals Program, then you are eligible to receive PetMeals as well.

In addition, homebound senior citizens are also eligible for this program. The term “homebound” refers to a person who is unable to leave their home due to an illness or disability.

What does the Program cost?

There is no cost to participate in the PetMeals Program. A qualified staff member from Citrus County Community Support Services will assess your eligibility through a no cost application process, and placement into the program can begin in as little as three days. Although there is no cost for the program, donations are
appreciated in order to keep the pet food supply replenished.

Where does the food come from?

The food for the PetMeals Program comes from a variety of volunteer sources. Through contributions from area agencies and concerned clients, food is donated and packaged at five Home Delivered Meals distribution sites throughout Citrus County on a scheduled day each month.
