Low Income Home Energy Assistance program (LIHEAP)
This program provides a once per
program year payment for eligible families. Assistance amount
is based on income. A limited amount of crisis money is also
available. Payments are made directly to utility companies.

Varies, currently April 1 - March 31
Eligibility:
Very low income households with an obligation to pay a utility bill.
Applications are accepted year round, based on availability of funding.
