The purchasing section coordinates the County's purchasing function including administration of
the County's bid process; reviews and approves requisitions for the purchase of all goods and
services costing $5,000 or more; and reviews and obtains BOCC or Administrator approval of invoices
for purchases that deviate from purchasing procedures.
Purchasing provides procurement and contract administration services for the Departments and
Divisions of the Citrus County Government.
Our Mission
It is very important that the Board of County Commissioners spend funds that are collected from
taxpayers and obtained through state and federal grants in a fiscally responsible manner.
To facilitate this, Purchasing ensures that all products and services are procured at the lowest possible cost.
This is accomplished through the use of competitive bidding. Purchasing solicits bids from
companies, evaluates the bids, and recommends to the Board who to award the bid based on cost and
overall value to the County.
